In Memoriam: CW4 Rafael San Juan

SAPA family,

We are saddened to announce that CW4 Rafael San Juan passed away on 30 August 2025. The Celebration of Life event was held on 21 September 2025 at Curlew Hills Memorial Garden, Palm Harbor, Florida.

Mr. San Juan was a member of a small group of Army PAs who saw the need for a civilian organization to represent the Army PA. He served as the first president of the SAPA Board of Directors and was later elected to serve as the president of the Society of European Physician Assistants. He retired from the Army in 1992, but continued to serve as a civil servant at McDonald Army Health Center at Fort Eustis, VA.

SAPA has sent condolences and flowers to his widow, Mrs. Bonnie San Juan. If any would like to send cards, her address is:
