Opportunity to Represent Army PAs on the Veterans’ Rural Health Advisory Committee

Dear SAPA Members,
We are excited to share an incredible opportunity for Army PAs to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of rural Veterans. The American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) is seeking to nominate a qualified PA for appointment to the Veterans’ Rural Health Advisory Committee (VRHAC).
The VRHAC plays a critical role in advising the Secretary of Veterans Affairs on improving and enhancing access to healthcare services for Veterans residing in rural areas.
Committee Responsibilities
Members of the VRHAC:
- Provide recommendations to improve VA’s delivery of services to rural Veterans.
- Collaborate with VA officials, Veteran Service Organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct annual site visits and town hall meetings with Veterans.
Membership Benefits
Committee members serve a three-year term, with the possibility of reappointment. Members will receive travel expenses and a per diem allowance for duties performed.
Qualifications
Eligible candidates should demonstrate:
- Experience in public, academic, community healthcare organizations, or the private sector.
- A passion for advocating on behalf of rural Veterans.
- A commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery for underserved populations.
Self-nominations are welcome! Non-Veterans are also eligible for consideration.

Is anybody familiar with the time requirements for this position? Is it monthly/quarterly/semi-annual? How many hours per meeting? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I will also email AAPA for supplemental info.
