Job Type: Full-time

OBHN is a group that has seen a wide range of patients throughout Alaska and some additional states via in-person services and utilizing telemedicine for the past ten years.  Dr. Evans is the CEO of the practice and opened the clinic with his expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry.  OBHN has approx ten medical providers now, consisting of physicians and PAs.  We have a psychology and therapy team composed of various backgrounds within the therapy and psychological assessment realm: PSYDs, LCSWs, and LPCs.  The clinic opened as a Child and Adolescent space for psychiatry/psychology care but has transitioned to the community's needs to see all ages. We do not provide wrap-around services, and there is no call.   The group has continued to develop a blend of the virtual medicine space and traditional clinic services.  Throughout the month, there are several staffing where the team meets to integrate communication in the mix of spaces.  Burnout prevention and resiliency are concepts part of OBHN's organizational philosophy.  Mentorship is provided and should be reflected by all of our team members.  Wellness days are provided for all the team members beyond just paid time off.  The clinic has adapted to meet the needs of patients and has been able to treat in other states within that state's licensing requirements.  The clinic provides training opportunities with grand rounds and clinical discussions throughout the year.  The practice provides training for future healthcare providers working with: Alaska Pacific University, the University of Washington and the University of Alaska Partnerships, South University - Richmond, VA, Yale University, and medical assistant programs.           The practioner we are looking for would be able to see patients full-time. Providing in-person care within those hours would be preferred but not a condition of employment. New practitioners should be able to come in with a training schedule to learn the essentials of how the clinic functions and be flexible with the challenges of psychiatry.  New practitioners to the practice should be able to function with mentorship but also utilize all resources available to make essential decisions.    All patients are seen in the collaborative model, and practitioners within the practice should be able to use this resource with challenging cases to help guide treatment.  This means referring to other providers as one of the optimal resources when patients present new challenges or outcomes that show the progression of a poor prognosis.   As OBHN is one of the pioneers of telemedicine integration in Alaska, we are looking for providers to help innovate ways to deliver access to psychiatry and enhance care using a minimal resource pool at times.  Practitioners should be flexible with technology challenges.   All team members (Ancillary Staff, Administrative, Medical, and Psychology Providers) should be able to integrate well with others and look to each other to help build resilience to work in a challenging field.
